Regulators gave conditional approval for Duke University Hospital’s proposed expansion. According to the Duke University officials, the addition would add over 500,000 square feet and could create nearly 1,000 new jobs. Costs of the expansion are estimated at $596 million. The hospital plans to break ground by fall 2008.
